The Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival is an international documentary festival which is being attended by professionals, outstanding filmmakers, film and television investors, producers and artists of the worldwide documentary film industry. It is held in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in autumn every year. Its purpose is to promote the international exchange of documentary films, build a bridge for the exchange, transaction and communication of documentary films of the East and the West, encourage outstanding documentary works with creativity, critical ability, uniqueness and practical significance, reward artists with outstanding achievements and who are focused on their documentary film career, support the creation of documentary film art and present outstanding documentary films to the world.
The Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival, as a professional platform for documentary films, strives to provide an equal displaying opportunity to every documentary maker. Through the unremitting efforts of the organizers and the active support of various industry associations and professionals from all over the world, the festival has grown into an independent, international and professional documentary film and culture brand.
The first Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival was held in Frankfurt am Main from October 15th, 2016, to October 18th, 2016. A total of nearly 400 films from 38 countries participated.
After the successful debut of the first festival it received the attention and praise of the international documentary film industry, mainstream media, and public.
1017 films from more than 92 countries and regions will participate in the second Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival.
The Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival features the six parts: Exhibitions, film screenings, awards, podium discussions, an investment fund and broadcasting right transactions.
Covering the presentation of outstanding documentary works, the exchange and discussion between industries, the promotion and discussion between documentary makers and investment and financing organizations, the festival is playing an increasingly important role for the promotion of the rapid development of the international documentary film industry and the prosperity and development of the world’s documentary film trade.
