Introduction of Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival
The Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival takes place every fall in Frankfurt, Germany. It is aimed at bringing together the world's attention and spreading films of a certain history and culture from one continent to another, exploring the source of culture of different civilizations and countries in the world using camera lenses, to promote mutual exchanges and learning, fully demonstrating Chinese people's global responsibility.
Nearly 100 top experts and scholars from all over the world have given their full support, and tens of thousands of professionals from over 100 countries have taken part in the festival. There are screenings, awards, forums, investment, trade exchange and other activities. The festival has become an important bridge and platform linking eastern and western documentaries, making up for the deficiency in the global documentary field.
“Countries have borders, but culture knows no limits.” Documentary films serve as an important medium for cultural exchange between different nations. The Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival invites all young filmmakers of the documentary film industry to participate. – There are no borders. The Golden Tree espouses the view that documentary film directors and producers utilize their own perspectives in making documentary films. Individual creativity should be paramount. The festival aims at providing artists from around the world with a platform for equal exchange as well as mutual profit and development.
The Third Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival will be held from September 19th to 22nd, 2018, in Frankfurt am Main on the theme of“Roots and Future of Culture”.

Registration Status：387 films from a total of 37 nations and regions were registered for participation in the festival.
The pre-selection jury and the final jury of the Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival include 13 internationally known personalities. After the members of the pre-selection jury have selected the finalists out of all participating films according to a quota, the final jury eventually selects 6 award winners.

The establishment of the Golden Tree International Documentary Film Fund through right-sharing commercial methods provides investments to directors, producers and copyright holders of documentary films and serves as support and promotion of persons in the documentary film world for exploration in the field of documentary films.

The 3rd Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival

Registration Status：The Registration period lasts from September 15th 2017 to March 31st 2018. Over 1600 films from a total of 101 nations and regions were registered for participation in the festival by December 31st, 2017.
The juries of the Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival include 44 internationally known personalities. Through the four stages of preliminary assessment, initial evaluation, pre-selection, and final evaluation, the final jury eventually selects 9 award winners.
2018 Golden Tree Award, Best Long Documentary Award, Best Medium-Length Documentary Award, Best Short Documentary Award, Best Mini Documentary Award, Best Director Award, Best Camera Work Award, Best Editing Award and the Special Award of the Organizing Committee.
During the documentary film festival, outstanding documentary films will be screened intensively, to enable ordinary people to participate in the festival and enjoy the films.
The Golden Tree International Documentary Film Festival Investment Fund is a commercial fund which holds 2 million euros in total. The Golden Tree Investment Fund management team will negotiate and sign investment contracts with different organizations and entities, including producers and rights holders based on various situations of documentaries and help carry out copyright agent services, along with striving to offer broader investing platforms for copyright holders.
Joint Production Meeting Hall
Through face to face discussions and exchanges, the Joint Production Meeting Hall will provide substantial cooperation opportunities to fulfill the needs of every member of the international documentary film industry in order to achieve a variety of goals, such as cooperative documentary projects, investment and financing opportunities as well as support for proxy agents, procurement and other cooperation purposes.
While all members of the global documentary film industry will be able to announce concrete details about their projects during the Joint Production Meeting Hall, the Organizing Committee of the Golden Tree will arrange suitable business partners in accordance to the requirements of each registered entity. For documentary investors, buyers, television stations, agencies, organizations as well as directors, producers and production teams, a wide range of exchange opportunities will be offered in order to deepen the cooperation of documentaries in the fields of arts and business, while also striving to promote the development of the documentary film industry.
